Rightmove house price statistics - 27/02/2006

According to Rightmove, the average asking price for a UK home has passed the £200,000 barrier for the first time. The property website has monitored 158,000 homes for sale and says prices rose 2.7% in the month to mid-February. The typical asking price is now £201,600. In terms of properties for sale and average times to find a buyer, in August 2005 each estate agent had an average of 72 properties for sale with a typical turnaround time of 94 days. Now each agent has an average 61 properties for sale with a typical turnaround time of just 81 days.
