NAEA House price statistics - January 2006 - 27/02/2006

In January 2006, the number of property sales increased 20% on December, confounding predictions of a slow start to the year according to the NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents). The number of people registered as buyers rose from an average of 302 to 355 per agent in January, the first rise for six months. Buyers are now paying an average of 96.3% of the asking price for homes, up from 96% in December and 95.5% in June 2005.
